Campsite Facilites

Westermill’s campsite is tucked into a secluded valley at the heart of Exmoor National Park, spanning around 15 acres divided into four fields.

You camp on mown meadows beside the River Exe and enjoy private access to about two miles of the river for paddling, fishing, dam-making, or simply cooling your feet. One special feature is that there are no fixed pitches — you choose where to pitch when you arrive — and you may park your vehicle next to your tent. The fourth field has fire pits already set up for campfires, and BBQs are allowed (so long as they’re placed off the ground).

  • Family shower rooms with free hot showers
  • Laundry / washing & drying rooms
  • Dishwashing area, water taps, natural spring drinking water
  • Gas bottle / Calor exchange
  • Hot water is supplied via an eco-friendly wood-chip biomass boiler using wood grown on the farm
  • Four waymarked walks (1 to 2.5 hrs) across the farm
  • The site sits within the International Dark Sky Reserve, making it ideal for stargazing
  • Dog-friendly and children welcome
