Yes — there are wood burners in each cottage.
There should be a complimentary basket of firewood in the cottage on arrival.
If you need more firewood it is for sale from Westermill Farm at £5 a bag.

Locally: Exmoor Stored in Exford has all the basics, there is also the Spar or One Stop in Porlock located 7.8miles away.

Towards the end of the camping season in 2022 — and for the first time in more than 50 years — West Somerset County Council (WSCC) declined to remove rubbish collected from our campsite. This despite the fact that we pay Business Rates to WSCC.
Last year, and since — we were and have been unable to identify a single commercial removal service willing to take on Westermill Camping as a client to remove either rubbish or recycling – the search continues…
Preferably before 8 PM – even if you are familiar with our campsite arrivals after dark tend to be disconcerting for other campers.
Please text 07970594808 if you are going to be late on arrival due to traffic congestion etc.
- Start in Exford.
- Leave Exford heading west with the village green or your left, after 1/4 mile the road has a “Y” fork… bear left… you are now on a single track road.
- Continue along this lane for about 2 miles then bear left at the large “Westermill Farm Campsite” sign on a tree and onto our farm lane, a couple of hundred yards thereafter arrive at the farmhouse.
- AVOID the Muddicombe Lane and Silly Bridge route — often recommended by GPS navigation as being “shorter” — Muddicombe Lane is steep, deep, twisty, narrow and “meeting” oncoming traffic can be “no fun” at all, add to that… at the bottom of the lane, Silly Bridge is only 6’6″ wide at its widest.
- If you are coming down Wellshead Hill — you will have to negotiate a very sharp right-hand hairpin turn onto our farm lane at the bottom of the hill, where the large Westermill sign on the tree is.
Here at Westermill Farm, we do not have set pitches, however, arriving together or arranging for a friend to save pitches close by is fine. Arriving early will also help.
No, however, we do sell our own “100% grass fed” beef for sale in a number of different cuts, please ask at reception for options and prices.
Yes, charging is available at a multi point plug in reception, however, we cannot be responsible for devices left to be re-charged.
In some areas and for some networks – yes.
But there is not full complete coverage – use the quietness of the valley to switch off and disconnect.
Free wifi is available around the area of the farmhouse only.
- There are four marked walks around the farm – brochures for these can be found in the farmhouse reception.
- You are welcome to walk any area of the farm, but please do not enter any of the farm buildings unless accompanied by farm staff, or a member of the Edwards family.
- Please ensure all gates are left exactly as you found them – shut if they were shut, open if they were open.
No, there are no electric hook ups.
