Westermill Farm, Exford
Westermill Farm is a traditional 500-acre working hill farm in the heart of Exmoor National Park.
The farm has been run by the Edwards family since 1938, continuing a long farming heritage on Exmoor that goes back generations.
Westermill remains a fully working farm, with livestock grazing across the fields and surrounding moorland. The farm is home to a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle along with several hundred breeding sheep. Throughout the year visitors may see cows and calves in the fields, sheep and lambs in spring, and the daily activity that comes with a traditional hill farm.
Because the farm is a working environment, access to livestock areas and farm buildings is strictly by arrangement and must be accompanied by a member of the Edwards family. This ensures both visitor safety and the welfare of the animals.

International Dark Skies Reserve
Guests staying in the cottages or camping fields can simply step outside and look up to enjoy some of the darkest skies in England.
Westermill lies within the Exmoor International Dark Sky Reserve, one of the best places in Europe to see the night sky. With no nearby towns and very little light pollution, clear nights reveal spectacular views of the stars, planets and the Milky Way.
Interaction with Animals
The farm is managed with great care for the surrounding landscape and wildlife. Westermill includes several designated wildlife sites and is part of environmental stewardship schemes designed to protect habitats, plants and insects while continuing traditional farming practices.
Guests can explore the farm through a number of waymarked walks, offering a chance to experience the rivers, fields and wildlife that make this part of Exmoor so special.
Because the farm is a working environment, access to livestock areas and farm buildings is strictly by arrangement and must be accompanied by a member of the Edwards family. This ensures both visitor safety and the welfare of the animals.
